Hello and welcome to the new Climate Change Leadership web page!
Here you will find exciting events, cutting-edge research and platforms for you to become a climate change leader yourself!
Founded in 2015, The Climate Change Leadership Node is an interdisciplinary research project linked to the Zennström Professor in Climate Change Leadership. With a 10-year series of visiting professorships, Zennström Philanthropies and Uppsala University are enabling the development of an environment that will directly address some of the most challenging questions that climate change poses to humanity, develop novel solutions, and enable transformative change in the nexus of science, policy and innovation. The professors will in distinct but mutually reinforcing ways, inspire new research and education and catalyze the much needed action toward a more sustainable future. The first three Zennström professors are Doreen Stabinsky (2015-2016), Kevin Anderson (2016-2018) and Keri Facer (2019 – )
Keri, the current professor, is Professor of Educational and Social Futures at the University of Bristol, School of Education. She works on rethinking the relationship between formal educational institutions and wider society and is particularly concerned with the sorts of knowledge that may be needed to address contemporary environmental, economic, social and technological changes.
Our past professors, Kevin Anderson and Doreen Stabinsky have left lasting legacies at Uppsala University. For example, Doreen started a student delegation at the University to attend the UNFCCC’s Climate Summits, whilst Kevin started a project on calculating carbon budgets for Swedish municipalities and counties.
We are always keen to meet new partners who are working in climate change and related fields. Please enjoy our new website and don’t hesitate to get in contact with us.
