VanDeveer\, Zennström Professor in Climate Change Leadership \n \nNegative impacts of climate change are obvious\, very costly\, and scientifically uncontroversial\, so why is climate change policymaking so contentious? Didn’t we once believe that\, as science and time marched on\, it would become easier to enact more stringent policies?  Why does it seem like it is becoming harder\, even as climate change starts to have a tangible effect on the world? Stacy VanDeveer will address these questions in his lecture as the new visiting Zennström professor in Climate Change Leadership. In doing so\, he draws lessons from three areas of contemporary national and international politics\, policymaking and social science research.
